Working with timber

Our origins

Westland woodwork was set up by Moss. Brought up on a parcel of land, heavily planted with specimen trees & surrounded by native woodland, timber has always been of personal interest for him. He has a long career in carpentry & construction, traditional timber framing, joinery & design. The company is now blessed with an alliance of carpenters all with a sound understanding of building with timber.

What we do

We design & build timber frame structures and create custom joinery. With a passion for historic architecture and British vernacular we have a dedication to traditional construction methods and detailing.

Our timber frames are jointed in european oak or home grown douglas fir, using mortice and tenon joinery held together with hand hewn oak pegs, a method used for thousands of years. Modern methods of jointing are embraced for contemporary designs, such as steel connecting plates. Each project is carefully considered & appropriately detailed driven by your requirements and wishes.

We take on joinery projects that need attention to detail. We are not a manufacturing company, our services are to create something you cannot buy off the shelf.
